To my future self,
You made it!! I have absolutely no idea where you've made it to, but you've made it somewhere and that's a cause to celebrate -- and you know how much I love to celebrate. After reading this, you should plan a party!
Anyway, back to the purpose of this letter. I'm here to remind you of what life was like back in the fall of 2014. My prayer is that as you read this, you'll see just how far the Lord has brought you and that He is faithful to do immeasurably more than you could have asked or imagined.
In case you've forgotten, fall of 2014 was when the there seemed to be a little light at the end of the long tunnel of your career search. You'd just celebrated two years as a nanny and were entering into one year as a part-time production assistant. And although you loved both of your jobs, a new adventure had been calling your name for quiet some time.
On October 13th you'd just blogged about giving thanks in all things. And October 14th the reality of that truth seemed to hit like a ton of bricks. Things don't seem very good right now and you find yourself looking at the mess that is your life and wondering how God's going to work through this. But you are choosing to believe that He is faithful, even in this.
In addition to job hunting, you're also thinking about going back to school right now. I wonder what you'll choose. Currently school seems like a good idea, to go back and get your M.F.A and then try to re-enter the work world. Plus, you'd be able to intern a lot more if you went back to school. But as of now, you're not fully convinced.
On the other hand, you've thought up the most wonderful idea for a business with your roommates and you're all really excited about it! So excited in fact, that you've started to talk with others about how to get it up and running. Perhaps, this is what you're doing now. If not, maybe you should go back to the drawing board!
No matter where you find yourself while reading this, my one prayer for you is that you've not forgotten who you are and who's you are. I pray that you've continued in walking faithfully with the Lord through the good, bad and ugly of life, being fully convinced that He is trustworthy.... That is, if you survive the Ebola! ;)
What would you tell your future self?
