Day 18| Tell a tale of traveling, a city or country that you've been to or a favorite vacation.
I've mentioned before, that I spent two summers during college in Colorado with Eagle Lake Camps and I loved every second of my experiences there. Each moment on that mountain, while difficult, is remembered with fond memories.
It was in this place, that I feel I've communed with God the most in all of my years. Up there, there were no distractions; no texts, phone calls nor television shows to get in the way of time spent in the presence of God. And as I communed with the Creator, I too entered into sweet fellowship with His people. Friendships were formed within hours and some have lived on, long after nights spent in tents.
There are everyday words and phrases that instantly put me back on that mountain; and call to memory jokes and conversations that will be with me for a lifetime.
My second summer, in 2012, when the Waldo Canyon Wildfire was started, I saw the Lord work in so many ways. Literally providing for our every need, and many times our wants. Our time spend on the mountain seemed too short, but even there the Lord's plan was perfect.
This was my quiet place; my hiding place. If I could, I would spend the rest of my life up on that mountain. I made the choice after I gradated from college, not to go back and it was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make. Every week, I miss that place; with it's cool, fresh air and seemingly unlimited possibilities.
>>shameless plug:: if you're in college and are looking for a way to continue you're walk with the Lord as well as poor into the lives of the next generation, you should have a look at Eagle Lake. And if you have any questions, I would LOVE to answer them!<<
