It's day 5 of the Blog-tember Challenge and today's prompt: "I am passionate about ______________. "
In one word, I'm passionate about relationships. I know I'm an introvert, but I love people and I love sharing my life with them. The process of sharing one's life -- the good, bad and the ugly -- with those around them is what fuels me. There's nothing I love more than welcoming people into my home -- to serve and love them, to bare in their burdens.
A little back story here, I became a Christian my first year of college. I grew up going to church, but I never fully understood the Gospel until my freshman year. So one part of relationships that I really cherish is discipleship -- ministering to younger women, especially high schoolers. I think it's such a turning point in the lives of most girls and I wish that there had been an older woman to lead me through those times (because I'm a bit of a hard head and didn't listen well to what my mom told me).
Given this passion, I spent every year in college being discipled and discipling others. I was also able to spend two amazing summers at Eagle Lake Camps, discipling young women and learning from them as we dove deep into the richness of God's word. And now that I'm done with college, I'm so thankful that I've made new friends and have been able to continue building on those foundations of friendship.
I've learned so much from these women and I'm extremely thankful for them and their faithfulness in partnering with me in life!
What are you passionate about?
